Research funding by the Bavarian Forest Administration
The task of forest research is to develop knowledge and strategies to safeguard the conservation and establishment of multifunctional, stable and productive forests. Projects following these aims are annually supported by funds from the Bavarian Forest Administration.

Funding is provided for practical research projects with current relevance for the forest-based sector or the forest ecosystem.
Projects for funding are selected by the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry (StMELF). Advice on the selection of suitable projects is provided by the Advisory Board on Forest Research.
The office of the Advisory Board on Forest Research located at the Bavarian State Institute of Forestry (LWF) in the Research Funding & Controlling Department is responsible for the implementation of funding and management of projects.
